The Flower in my Garden

I don’t have much of a green thumb. But to utilize the little open space in the balcony of my home, I bought some plants and grew them in small pots. I am quite forgetful when it comes to watering and nurturing my plants so I started out with some basics.

Rose, Zinnia, Tulsi, Aloe Vera and Curry leave plants are what I chose to start my garden with.  And one day I noticed that my Zinnia plants had started growing tall and sturdy. I was proud, and like a proud hen, I started clucking around my plants, watering them regularly. Then I noticed some buds in the Zinnia plants and I was super excited. Everyday morning, my daughter and I would check if the buds had blossomed, but these plants do take their own sweet time to bloom.

And today morning when I went into my balcony, I found a small red Zinnia flower swaying gently in the breeze. The last time I had felt so happy was, when I had seen my daughter’s face for the first time in the hospital. I was ecstatic. I called my husband and daughter to view the magnificent glory and clicked some pictures. It’s truly rewarding when something that you have toiled over for so many days, finally pays off.

Here are some pictures of my babies. Hope you like it.
